Goosehead enters the second half of 2026 having cut its own franchise network by 20% in eighteen months, on purpose, and is telling investors the smaller network will outproduce the one it replaced. Franchise productivity is up 32% year over year, client retention has reached 86%, and contingent commissions have nearly tripled as carrier profitability recovers. CEO-designate Mark Jones, Jr. inherits this bet on January 1, 2027, alongside a $25 million to $35 million annual commitment to Digital Agent 2.0, a direct digital binding platform still live in only one state. The productivity numbers hold up on the metrics available today. They have not yet been tested by a completed contraction cycle, a finished leadership transition, or a Digital Agent rollout beyond Texas. This Dossier separates what Goosehead has demonstrated from what it is still asking the market to take on faith.

One thing worth flagging: management's own 2026 guidance, 12% to 19% revenue growth against roughly 33% EBITDA margin, sits below the Rule of 50 performance Goosehead already achieved in 2024, even as leadership continues to frame Rule of 60 as the target the franchise pivot is meant to deliver.

Sources and Methods

Each Dossier is built from primary documents: SEC filings and statutory financials, earnings call and investor day transcripts, management presentations, rating agency and regulatory records, company press releases, and trade press. We also work the channels where operating problems surface before they reach an earnings call, including expert interviews with market participants, agent and broker forums, and practitioner communities. Equity analyst commentary is used to map where the sell-side disagrees and is treated as opinion rather than evidence.

The Intelligence Council is editorially independent. No company reviews a Dossier before publication.
