Dossiers are executive-grade competitive intelligence on specific publicly traded companies, built for the people who run the P&C insurance ecosystem: the operators responsible for underwriting, distribution, capital, or strategy.
This is not run-of-the-mill ‘news coverage’ gleaned from press releases.
Each Dossier identifies and covers the single strategic question a company is currently being judged on, plus coverage of key financial metrics and indicators, commercial signals, competitive position, and key developments per quarter.
The Intelligence Council is editorially independent. No company reviews a Dossier before publication.
Sources and Methods
Dossiers are built from primary documents: SEC filings and statutory financials, earnings call and investor day transcripts, management presentations, rating agency and regulatory records, company press releases, and trade press. We also work the channels where operating problems surface before they reach an earnings call, including expert interviews with market participants, agent and broker forums, and practitioner communities. Equity analyst commentary is used to map where the sell-side disagrees and is treated as opinion rather than evidence.
Who Must Read a Dossier
C-Level, VP+, and board members across P&C carriers, brokers/MGAs, reinsurers, and insurtechs responsible for underwriting, distribution, capital, or strategy
Investors and capital providers evaluating the sector
Consultants, analysts, industry observers, and other market participants
Inside each Dossier
Central Question: The single unresolved strategic question on which the company is being judged
Vital Signs: Revenue, combined ratio, loss ratio, capital position, and the other numbers that matter, sourced directly from filings and calls
What This Means For You: Implications broken out by Carriers; Brokers & Distribution; Reinsurers & Capital Providers; Investors & Board
Signals Dashboard: Forward-looking indicators across customer momentum, competitive pressure, product, talent, financial viability, and governance
Market Reality Check: What analysts, investors, and the press are actually saying, and where management is deflecting
Commercial Momentum: Partnerships, launches, pricing changes, and M&A
Competitive Position: Where the company is winning share, losing it, or ceding whitespace
Business Model Anatomy: How the company makes money today and what's structurally changed
